Protest At UCC
Up to 100 researchers at the Tyndall National Institute in UCC will demonstrate this morning, in a bid to get their wages brought into line with other staff at the university. The General Secretary of the Irish Federation of University Teachers says the pay of researchers is a third lower than other UCC staff, and they plan to protest at a European Science Event being hosted today by UCC. Mike Jennings says researchers feel they're being discriminated against in terms of pay and conditions, and even the Labour Court has agreed they have a case, but nothing has been done.
