"Reforms In Private Rented Sector Are Needed"
That's according to Joe Finnerty, the author of a new report on homlessness
The author of a new report on homelessness says reforms in the private rented sector are needed urgently to help people exiting emergency accommodation in Cork.
Joe Finnerty made the comment following the unveiling of the "Last Resort" report for Cork Simon Community, which details the hopes, aims and vulnerabilities of adults in long term emergency accommodation.
36 men and women were interviewed over 18 months for the report which describes emergency shelter as an "ineffective last resort" for those facing homelessness.
Speaking to RedFM News, Joe Finnerty says secure housing is one of the most effective methods to help those in emergency shelter get back on their feet
