Reports funding is secured for Events Centre
The Irish Examiner reports that the breakthrough will allow the development to finally progress after two years of uncertainty.
This day two years ago the sod was turned however after an internal redesign more state funding was requested and it was feared the project would collapse.
However it's understood the State will inject an extra €10 million into the project in addition to the €20 million it pledged three years ago.
It's reported an increase in private funding from developers BAM and the venue’s proposed operators, Live Nation has also been pledged.
Peter Aiken of Aiken Promotions recently spoke to RedFM News about the need for an Events Centre in a city like Cork.
