Results of first ever national patient experience survey revealed

Half of hospital patients said they couldn't always find a member of staff to talk to about their worries or fears.

The results of the survey show that while the majority of people are happy with their hospital stay, there's room for improvement.

It also revealed that 70% of patients are waiting longer than the 6 hour target time to be admitted to hospital.

HIQA's Rachel Flynn says along with waiting times, concerns around discharge or transfer showed the greatest need for improvement.
