Ryanair's Chief Operations Officer has resigned

He's due to leave the company at the end of the month

Confirming the move last night, Ryanair said the company will now commence the process of identifying and recruiting a successor.

Michael Hickey has spent over 30 years with Ryanair, having joined the company in 1988 as an engineer.

In a statement, Michael O'Leary says Mr Hickey has made an enormous contribution over the past three decades and will be a 'hard act to replace'.
