Save Cork City: City Hall Will Not contest Judicial Review Against Morrison's Island Flood Defence Plans
The challenge being mounted by the Save Cork City organisation is aimed at preventing the commencement of the works
Save Cork City say the plan will damage the historic fabric of the city with an emphasis on raised quay walls.
It follows a recent European Court decision which requires Cork City Council to complete a new environmental screening assessment on the project which it's understood will cause further delays.
However the local authority says it remains committed to the delivery of the full project and that no changes to the project design or scope are required or are being proposed.
Speaking to RedFM News John Hegarty of Save Cork City says the case is due to be heard tomorrow and he's hopeful it will bring about a review of the plans:
