Senior Gardaí In Cork Investigating Whether Middle Ranking Officers Breached Covid-19 Regulations
The Irish Examiner reports it's understood a drinks party attended by several Gardaí before Christmas is at the centre of the investigation.
It's understood a number of small groups who had been socialising all met up in one city centre pub.
Later that night a Garda who allegedly attended the party was involved in a crash at Silversprings, subsequently failed a breath test and was arrested.
The paper reports Garda Press say an internal inquiry into the circumstances of the crash is ongoing.
