Sexual Violence Centre Cork hopeful change in law which criminalises the buyers of sex will bring about change

The organisation says prostitution Leeside is still a problem 

The Criminal Law (Sexual Offences) Act 2017 which came into effect at the end of March criminalises the purchase of sex.

In February Gardaí shut down a brothel in the Wilton area of the city where what has been described as a full scale prostitution operation was in place.  

Speaking to RedFM News Mary Crilly of Sexual Violence Centre Cork says it's her experience that people are forced into prostitution and she says they need to be protected:
