Modular apartments that can be stacked on top of existing city buildings could be one solution to Cork's homelessness crisis
Michael Maltzan - a US architect will be in Dublin today - to talk about a building he transformed in skid row, LA
He created 102 apartments for former homeless people - by stacking the apartments on top of a one storey building - without the need for demolition.
The idea will be discussed at the Royal Institute of the Architects of Ireland's annual conference today.
Speaking to RedFM News, Paul Sheehan from Cork Simon says modular apartments would be welcomed in Cork so long as they're not used as a permanent solution:
