Terminally Ill UCC Graduate Conferred With Doctorate of Laws

In 2011 Adrienne Cullen underwent hospital tests in the Netherlands - some of which went missing.

It wasn't until 2013 during a review of old pathology results that it was discovered that a test she underwent for cancerous tissue was in fact positive.

By 2015, tests showed the cancer had spread and following the delay in diagnosis the cancer was terminal.

The 58-year-old battled and won the biggest financial settlement for medical negligence ever paid in the Netherlands - she's now campaigning for change in the medical profession.

Adrienne is being conferred with an Honorary Doctorate of Laws by UCC.
