The British And EU Negotiating Teams Are Resuming Talks On A Brexit Trade Deal

Talks are resuming in Brussels this afternoon

Discussions were halted on Friday because of a continuing impasse over trade rules, fisheries and governance.

Stephen Bourke has this report for RedFM News:

'The European Commission President got off the phone with the British Prime minister shortly after six o'clock last night Irish time. It was up to them to try and get Michel Barnier and David Frost back at the negotiating table. The EU and UK negotiators "paused" their work on FridayThey said "significant differences" remained, and that they were still nowhere near getting a deal done. In a joint statement, Ms von der Leyen and Mr Johnson say the areas in question are "critical" -- and without them "no agreement is feasible". They've ordered their delegations to make a "further effort" to try and bridge the gap -- as talks resume in Brussels later this morning.'
