The First Of The Government's Promised 150,000 New Houses Will Be Built By 2020
The locations include the former St Kevin's hospital in Cork city
The first of the Government's promised 150,000 new houses will be built by 2020.
3,000 homes are to be built on 8 state owned land banks, according to the newly formed Land Development Agency which was addressing the Joint Oireachtas Housing Committee which will also hear from officials from Cork City Council later
This morning the committee heard that at least 40% of the properties to be constructed in the next two yeaers would be social housing.
The locations include St Kevin's in Cork city, Dundrum Central Mental Hospital, Skerries, Balbriggan, Naas, Dyke Road in Galway, Meath Hospital in Dublin 8, and Columb Barracks in Mullingar.
