The Tánaiste Has Weighed In On The Patrick Street Car Ban Controversy
He says he suspects a change will be made tonight.
Cork's Simon Coveney says he expects a realistic response at tonight's special meeting of Cork City Council where a decision on the new initiative will be made.
Traders have mounted stiff opposition to the new Strategic Movement Strategy which prohibits cars from using the main street between 3 and 6.30pm daily with many claiming their trade has been decimated and others exploring the option of cutting staff.
Speaking to RedFM News Minister Coveney says if the ban is suspended or altered tonight, it doesn't change the need to remove cars from the city centre:
