Threshold Renew Call For NCT Style Cert For Private Rented Accommodation
Housing Charity Threshold have renewed their call for an NCT style certification for private rented accommodation
The Charity's Cork Office made the call following the announcement of the Rental Tenancies Act by the Housing Minister Eoghan Murphy.
The Act makes it a criminal offence for landlords to increase rents by more than 4% in designated rent pressure zones.
It also introduces a rent register which would publish average prices and increases the notice period for tenants to quit properties.
Speaking to RedFM News, Edel Conlon of Threshold in Cork says the Act is a step in the right direction for renters however more needs to be done
