Traders In North Main Street Heartened By Rumours Of New Tenant

Traders in North Main street say they are continuing to fight back as rumours circulate over it's latest tenant.

Sports Direct is rumoured to be interested in opening a store on the street in the site previously owned by Dunnes Stores.

The British based company currently has shops in Mallow and Ballincollig, but is reportedly looking to open a shop in the city centre.

The former Dunnes stores premesis has been idle since 2016 and talks between the companies involved are believed to be at an early stage.

Speaking to RedFM News Mick Murphy from the North Main Street Traders Group says the reopening of the shop would be a postive step in the right direction.
