Two Cork Locations Deemed Litter Black Spots

Two Cork locations have been deemed littered black spots in a new survey.

Farranree was branded a "litter blackspot" and Mahon was deemed 'littered". Both areas were ranked in two of the three bottom positions in the ranking of 40 towns and cities

However It wasn't all bad news for Cork in the survey which was by carried out by Irish Business Against Litter.

Cork City scored well with 16 out of 24 sites surveyed getting the top litter grade.

Kilkenny meanwhile is once again the cleanest area in Ireland.

The survey shows sweet papers as the most common form of litter on streets, followed by fast food wrappers, cigarette butts and chewing gum.
