UPDATE: Black Ice Continuing To Cause Mayhem On Cork Roads

Gardai are responding to multiple collisions across the county

The guards are currently dealing with two accidents in Kinsale this morning due to the black ice one at Brownsmills and the other near Horse Hill in Dunderrow

Motorists are also advised that the Newcestown and Ballinadee roads are very dangerous this morning along with roads around Ballyfeard and Dunderrow

A tow truck will be removing the car that crashed on the Kinsale side of the Halfway roundabout  later this morning so motorists are advised that this may also lead to delays

Midleton Gardai say they are currently dealing with up to 25 collisions in the area so extreme care is advised on all routes due to the black ice which led to crashes on the Castlelyons to Conna Road and at Mackey's Cross on the Dungourney to Tallow Road

In North Cork black ice is causing major problems for motorists on the entire stretch of the Kanturk/Cork Road

The roads were treated overnight but the gritting has not been effective everywhere with secondary and minor roads described as very dangerous
