Victims Of A Tipperary Man Who Sexually Abused Them Call For An Independent Investigation
The victims are questioning why the state authorities failed to intervene and whether they weren't protected because they are members of the travelling community
The victims of a 75 year old Tipperary man who sexually abused them for more than 20 years are calling for an independent investigation.
James O'Reilly of Ballynonty, Thurles, Co Tipperary was sentenced to 20 years in prison yesterday for the repeated rape and sexual abuse of his seven daughters and younger sister.
The victims are questioning why the state authorities failed to intervene and whether they weren't protected because they are members of the travelling community.
Jack Griffin from the Tipperary Rural Travellers Project says the family were in contact with officials but the abuse continued.
