Voter Turnout In Today's General Election Has Been Low So Far This Morning In Cork County
In the 2016 general election the figures stood at 2.5% by 8:30am, while this morning that figure was 1.6%
However according to the Cork County Returning Office turnout is difficult to estimate as the election is being held on a Saturday which has not happened since 1918. Normal voting patterns are also likely to be affected by the Irish Rugby match and other weekend activities.
Polling stations will remain open until 10pm tonight.
