West Cork Women Against Violence to set up safe house

A safe house for domestic violence victims is to be set up in West Cork.

The funding of €400,000 for the project has been given by an anonymous donor to the West Cork Women Against Violence.

The group hope the development will provide specialised services and supports for women and children in abusive situations.

The funding was announced in November 2019, however the project was delayed by the pandemic.

Tusla are also funding a specialist worker to move the safe house project forward.
