Work To Begin On Cork Event Centre By End Of 2018
The developers behind Cork's stalled Events Centre say work will begin on the site by the end of the year.
The comments come after City Council heard on Monday evening that a ‘funding gap’ still hangs over the project despite assurances that a deal was imminent two months ago.
It's over two years since the sod was turned at the former Beamish & Crawford site for the 5,000 seat venue but construction has yet to start.
In a statement issued yesterday BAM Ireland said that the funding gap, both private and public, has almost closed and the company is confident that funding to progress the project will be available.
The statement adds that BAM expects construction to start during the last quarter of this year.
