WPDF Call For Cork Businesses To Offer Military Discounts
A group set up to support families of the Defence Forces are calling on businesses Leeside to offer a military discount similar to student discounts.
The Wives and Partners of the Defence Forces group say this would alleviate some of the hardship currently felt by military families across the city and county.
The initiative is already running in Dublin, and has been a huge success with serving members availing of discounts in shops, cinemas, garages and gyms.
The WPDF are asking businesses in Cork to offer a similar discount to the Defence Forces who are currently the lowest paid members of the public sector.
Speaking to RedFM News WPDF spokesperson Shelly Cotter says the group have started the #thankyouforyourservice to highlight the initiative:
