Head of the HSE says it was the right decision to ask some covid-19 patients to do their own contact tracing 

Around 2,500 people that tested positive over the weekend have been asked to let their close contacts know. 

The HSE says it was a temporary measure in response to a high volume of positive cases. 

HSE CEO Paul Reid says he takes responsibility for not informing Government.
