Ella Henderson Dropped By Simon Cowell's Label

Former X Factor contestant Ella Henderson has been dropped by her label Syco, owned by Simon Cowell.

Despite Henderson's debut single Ghosts selling more than 2 million copies four years ago, it appears time is up on her contract at the X Factor bosses' label.

The 22-year-old singer was removed from the label following several setbacks in the making of a second album with insiders saying her new material wasn't "up to scratch". It is also being reported that other acts that have come through reality shows like X Factor could also be dropped from the label.

A spokesperson for the label told The Sun: "Syco and Ella henderson are parting company.

"We wish Ella all the best for the future and thank her for her hugely successful contribution over the years."

A source close to the star said: "Ella has been an incredible talent for Syco, But it was felt by everyone it was time for a chance of direction.

"It is four years since she released her last album and it has been so stop-start since then. A new beginning seemed the best option for everyone."
