LISTEN BACK: Mary Power chats to Ray Foley about setting a new powerboat record from Cork - Fastnet Rock and back again!

On Monday morning on Breakfast Ray Foley caught up with Mary Power who was on-board the Thunderchild II which on Sunday as it set a new powerboat world record for the over 50 ft class. The powerboat traveled from Cork-Fastnet-Cork in 2 hrs 36 minute.

COBH TO FASNET AND BACK IN 3 HOURS ThunderChild2 left Cork harbour at 52 knots at 2pm. It will have arrived in Fasnet in 1 and a half hours. It was built by by Cobh man Frank Kowalski at his Safe Haven Marine boat yard in Youghal. They are attempting a world record for a journey to Fasnet and back. It normally takes 12 hours on a sailing boat. They are making good headway to be back at base at 5pm.
