Lisa Donovan spoke with Dave on World Down Syndrome Day. The centre is fully reliant on public funding, as they receive zero support from the government. With a large amount of the funds going towards early intervention and parental support. Also, funds come from fundraising events like challenge 21 which is taking place on (Father’s Day) June 18th,. The concept is that you aim to get a sponsorship of 21 euros from 21 people. However, if you register before April 30th, you can be entered into a draw for a chance to win a Hotel Stay in Ireland. The walk goes from Haulbowline to Páirc Uí Chaoimh, with a family fun day near the finishing line.
