Calls for businesses Leeside to offer discount to members of the Defence Forces

A group set up in Cork to support families of members of the defence forces have launched a new #thankyouforyourservice hashtag
The Wives and Partners of the Defence Forces group say it is a gesture to help the Defence Forces feel appreciated by society.
The WPDF say many military families are struggling to make ends meet, and are calling on Cork businesses to sign up to a new initiative that offers serving officers discounts similar to those offered to students and OAP's.
The scheme is already running in Dublin, and the support group hope to replicate it across the rest of the country.
Speaking to RedFM News WPDF Spokesperson Shelly Cotter says she hopes businesses Leeside will step up to the plate and follow suit.
