City Hall is to push forward with plans to rename Anglesea Street

The Echo reports Councillors voted unanimously to rename the street last night following a proposal from Sinn Féin Councillor Henry Cremin.

The street looks set to become MacSwiney Street to honour the former Lord Mayor of the City Terence MacSwiney who died on hunger strike in 1920.

The Council will invite proposals for the renaming from the public before a final decision is made.
