Concerns expressed over the number of gardaí in Cork

Recent figures show a drop in numbers over the last five years.
There's been a call for more Gardai to be recruited for Cork after new figures show that there are 115 fewer Gardai across the three garda divisions than five years ago.
The Cork West Garda division has been hardest hit, with a 15% cut in its staffing levels largely due to the closures of rural stations after 2011.
The Garda Representative Association says the impact of cuts has been severe and says reduced garda numbers mean a greater workload for remaining members and reduced garda visibility.
In the last 18 months Cork city got 10 new recruits which the GRA says is not nearly enough to cope with the loss of members through retirements and promotions.
Mick Corcoran of the GRA told RedFM News that the ability to police the city centre has been decimated.
