Cork Business Association Say Delay On City Boundary Is Bad For Business

Cork Business Association says the possibility of a six month delay to the decision on the City's boundary is bad for business.

Cork County Council submitted a boundary extension plan to the city council under Section 29 of the Local Government Act, which involves a six month consultation process.

 

This will allow people across the city and county express their views on the proposal.

 

Both local authorities attended a meeting with the MacKinnon Implementation Group yesterday and presented their arguments for and against implementing the recommendations by the review group.

 

Cork City Council have since plegded to arrange for a series of information sessions to be held around their presentation.

 

CBA meanwhile have voiced their support for the recommendations contained in the MacKinnon report which would extend the city boundary to include Cork Airport, Ballincollig, Blarney, Little Island, Glounthaune, Glanmire and Carrigtwohill.
