Firms Could Face Legal Action If Technology To Check Up On Employees Working From Home Is Overused

People working from home could have to accept technology tracking the number of mouse clicks they make
The Irish Congress of Trade Unions, which says the tools could be used to decide who gets a bonus or let go from a company.
It's urged the government to make sure clear guidance is in place for how bosses can use artificial intelligence technology.
Dr Laura Bambrick from ICTU says many employers are making use of the tools:
"By allowing them to measure the keyboard and the mouse usage, the web browsing activity, and to take timecard of screenshots, every few minutes. But aside from that, there's also informal practices that we're hearing about where workers are being required to leave the laptop camera on and the microphone on, so that supervisors can spontaneously check in"
