Gardaí investigating vandalism at a green area on the northside of the City
Brian Dillons GAA Club discovered broken beer bottles on their playing pitches at the Tank Field in Mayfield on Wednesday morning.
The club posted photos to social media of several bottles that had been pushed into the playing surface and say it's beyond belief that someone would vandalise the pitch in that manner.
Local Councillor John Maher said he would arrange for money from the ward fund be made available to help repair the damage to the field.
Not only is the Tank Field the main playing pitch for all of our underage boys and girls, it is also a public amenity to be enjoyed by the community as a whole. It is beyond belief who would do this.
