Hopes Carrigaline Will Be Allocated Additional Community Gardaí By End Of The Year

The Irish Examiner reports Chief Superintendent Barry McPolin told a Joint Policing Committtee meeting that the number of officers in the town had already increased from 18 to 23 since the start of the year.

There have been repeated calls for a 24 hour Garda station in the town, however Chief Superintendent McPolin said he could not see that happening in the medium to long term due to it's proximity to Togher Garda Station which is open on a 24/7 basis.
