Ireland has one of the highest rates of alcohol consumption in the world

A new survey from RED C also found that over half of 18 to 34 year olds in Ireland claim to feel regularly stressed.

The survey was conducted in 34 countries.

Just under half of people say they exercise often.

Five years ago, author of 'Soberista', Kate Gunn, gave up alcohol for a 30-day challenge - and never went back to it.

She says the hangovers were one of the main reasons:

"You know, it definitely makes anxiety worse. It takes longer through your working week to kind of get over, so you're very sluggish. And so, lots of things that we just kind of live with, you know, as part of the drinking culture that, you know, everyone goes through and we kind of laugh about the hangovers. I felt it was definitely slowing things down for me."
