The funeral of a North Cork woman has heard how darkness came into her life when she lost three members of her family

Anne O'Sullivan's husband and two sons died in a murder/suicide last October in Kanturk

Anne O'Sullivan's funeral mass took place in Kanturk this afternoon
She was was the sole survivor of a shooting last year that left her husband Tadhg, and two sons Mark and Diarmuid dead

Anne passed away on Wednesday after a long battle with a serious illness

It is believed Tadgh and Diarmuid entered into a pact to shoot Mark before turning the guns on themselves in a row over Anne's will which left the farm to Mark

Her funeral mass heard that her "untimely" passing was not the only tragedy in her life

"Darkness came into Anne's life when she lost her family in very sad and tragic circumstances and when she lost her battle with the illness she had fought so courageously.  For Anne the dawn of a new eternal day has come. So whatever sadness, there may have been, whatever darkness may have overshadowed us, we remember the words of St. Paul, nothing can ever come between us and the love of God made visible in Christ Jesus our Lord"
