Transport Minister says vaccinated people could be exempt from mandatory hotel quarantine
The Transport Minister says people who've been fully vaccinated against Covid-19 could soon be exempt from mandatory hotel quarantine
Currently anyone travelling from a list of 59 countries is required to stay in a facility for two weeks and show evidence of a negative PCR test.
16 more countries, including France, the US and Canada are also being added to the list from Thursday.
Eamon Ryan says exemptions for those who've been vaccinated could soon be introduced:
"We don't have an international certification process, we'll have to wait for again health advice in that there's still some concern within the health authorities that even post vaccination people may be transmissible so they are they're cautious around that but I would expect that will be a change that we will see in coming weeks and months."
