Tributes have been paid to Cork ARC Cancer Support Co-Ordinator Clare O'Neill who was killed during Storm Ophelia after a tree fell on her car in Waterford

Clare worked as an oncology nurse for over three decades, and most recently as Cancer Support Co-Ordinator with the Cork ARC Cancer Support House with their East Cork and West Waterford service, based in Youghal.

Clare, who was a mother of one in her 50s, was driving in rural area between Clashmore and Aglish in Waterford yesterday when the branch of a tree fell on her vehicle and went through the windscreen

Cork ARC say they are deeply saddened by the sudden loss of their friend and colleague whom they've described as a wonderful nurse and a special person who will be sorely missed by all who knew her in Youghal

Cork ARC Cancer Support House will be closed today as a mark of respect
