Two Cork third level institutions named best in the country

It's hoped that two third level institutions in Cork being named the best in the country will showcase the economic potential of the region.
The comments come as both Cork Institute of Technology and University College Cork have been named as The Sunday Times IT of the Year and University of the Year respectively.
UCC are top of their table in their category for a number of reasons including the college's ability to generate research income and it has the best progression rate for undergraduate students from first to second year in the country.
CIT scooped the title for its research performance and impact and its relationship with disadvantaged schools and knocked Dublin IT off the top spot for the first time in 14 years.
Speaking to RedFM News, CIT's Orla Flynn says it's a great boost for the region:
