Around 500 People Have Turned Out For A Anti-Lockdown Rally In The City Centre

The demonstration is currently taking place on Patrick's Street

A large Garda presence can be seen in the City Centre, on almost every route into and out of the city and the Garda helicopter flies overhead amid fears the demonstration will turn violent like scenes in Dublin last weekend where a firework was launched at Gardaí.

Speakers are currently addressing the crowd and making a public appeal to the Taoiseach to end lockdowns. 

One arrest has been made this afternoon so far, a street performer was arrested for breaching COVID19 legislation.
