Public health expert says it could cost lives if Government doesn't widen the gap between coronavirus vaccines
The cabinet's due to consider this week whether the interval between Pfizer and Moderna doses should be extended beyond the current 4 weeks
Latest figures show over 32 thousand doses were administered on Friday - and over 830 thousand people have now received at least one jab.
Public health expert Dr Gabriel Scally says Ireland should adopt the UK approach of prioritising first doses:
"It was an extremely logical thing to do and the right thing to do and I'm surprised that more countries haven't followed suit, and it may well cost lives not to do it. It's very logical, you get the vast bulk of the protection that you're going to get from vaccination pretty immediately after one vaccine dose."
