Series of anti-lockdown protests are getting underway throughout the country

The so called Freedom Walks are taking place in eleven locations nationwide including here in Cork on Patrick Street

However Gardai say they're not anticipating a large gathering for the event.

It's the second such a demonstration to take place here in Cork in the last two days.

The Rise Up Eireann freedom walk is part of a series of national anti lockdown protests taking place today, however Gardaí have told RedFM News they don't expect the event to attract as many people as yesterday's demonstration where an estimated 300 people turned out for the protest.

It's been confirmed to red FM news by organisers of that event that anti lockdown protests will now take place every Monday at 4pm in various locations across Cork, including the city centre Middleton Caroline and Youghal.
