6 Dr. Seuss books have been ceased over ''hurtful and wrong'' imagery.
Publications of six Dr. Seuss books will cease due to their racist and insensitive imagery says the company that preserves the author's legacy.
Dr. Seuss Enterprises said it would cease publication of - 'And to Think That I Saw It On Mulberry Street, If I Ran The Zoo, McElligot's Pool, On Beyond Zebra!, Scrambled Eggs Super! and The Cat's Quizzer.
The decision was made after receiving feedback from academics, teachers, and specialists as well as working with a panel of experts to review the books. “Ceasing sales of these books is only part of our commitment and our broader plan to ensure Dr. Seuss Enterprises’ catalog represents and supports all communities and families,” the company said.
Dr. Seuss Enterprises said the books portray people in ways that are ''hurtful and wrong''. They also added that they are “committed to listening and learning and will continue to review our entire portfolio”.
