Big Brother's Brian Dowling's Mother Passes Away

The mother of Big Brother winner Brian Dowling has sadly passed away.

The 61-year-old died on February 21 in Newtown, Rathangan, Co. Kildare.

In a statement released to RSVP live, the family announced the sad news: "The Downling family are heartbroken to confirm the death of their beloved mother Rosie. Brian and his family are devastated by their loss, and please ask for privacy at this difficult time."

A charity event that was due to be held in the town on Sunday has been cancelled as a mark of respect to Rosie Dowling.

Speaking to RSVP Live, Church of Assumption's V.Rev. Gerard O'Byrne said: "She was much loved by the elderly and the sick who she cared for in the community."

Rosie is survived by her husband Gerry and children, Brian, Michelle, Valerie, Tracey, Paula, Aoife and Tara and her grandchildren, Chloe, Shannon, Sean, Leah, Sadhbh, Sophie and Rian as well as extended family and friends.
