Here Are The 10 Qualifying Songs From The First Eurovision Semi-Final

The first semi-final for this year's Eurovision Song Contest took place last night.

Stockholm was the centre of Europe last night as it kicked off the 2016 Eurovision in it's impressive Globe arena. 18 countries participated in last night's first semi-final with ten of those countries qualifying for the final on Saturday along with host country Sweden and the "Big Five" The UK, France, Germany, Spain, Italy who automatically qualify.

The countries eliminated from the competition following last night's performances were Finland, Greece, Moldova, San Marino, Estonia, Montenegro, Iceland and Bosnia & Herzegovina. The second semi-final takes place on Thursday night at 8pm on RTE2. Ireland will have particular interest in this semi-final as our Eurovision hopeful Nicky Byrne will be taking to the stage with his song 'Sunlight'.
