Here Are The 15 Biggest Selling Albums Of The Last Decade
We're not surprised by number one!
The Official Chart Company released information on the top selling albums of the last decade and it's safe to say we're not surprised by the results.
The top fifteen are as follows:
15: Plan B – The Defamation Of Strickland Banks

Remember Plan B? Otherwise known as Ben Drew, this rapper managed to just make it in to the top 15 with his 2010 album. Unfortunately the success of this album didn't carry through too far and Plan B is now a distant memory.
14: Mumford & Sons – Sigh No More:

This huge debut album from the banjo wielding English men was enough to bag them fourteenth position in the top fifteen albums of the last ten years. The 2009 album sold an impressive 1,282,000 copies, mainly from downloads.
13: Coldplay – Mylo Xyloto

Coldplay are in 13th place. Mylo Xyloto sold 122,000 copies in its first three days on sale back in October 2011. So it's no surprise to see it in this list!
12: Lady Gaga – The Fame

She may not be releasing much music lately but Lady Gaga's debut album was a smash-hit world wide. It has sold around 1.4 million copies since being released in 2008.
11: Adele - 19

We're still waiting for Adele to release her new album, but her debut has done enough to place her at 11th in the top 15 albums of the decade. 1.7 million in sales is impressive for a debut album!
10: Bruno Mars – Doo-Wops & Hooligans

We're into the top 10 and Bruno Mars has taken tenth position. The album, released in 2010, and has sold around 1.7 million copies since.
9: Sam Smith – In The Lonely Hour

Considering this album is just over a year old, it's a serious achievement for Sam Smith to be in the top ten with his debut album. More than 1.8 million people bought his debut album, which became the second-best-selling album of 2014 after Ed Sheeran's 'X'.
8: Michael Bublé – Crazy Love

The crooner that is Michael Buble sits pretty at number 8 with his 2009 album Crazy Love.
7: Rihanna - Loud

This huge album for Rihanna sold enough copies to push her up to number 7 on the top fifteen. With huge singles such as Only Girl, S&M and What's My Name? we're not surprised!
6: Ed Sheeran - +

The album that shot Ed Sheeran to fame is holding sixth position. The album has sold 1,958,000 copies since its release in 2011. Not bad at all!
5: Ed Sheeran - X

There he is again! Ed Sheeran's follow up album X beat his debut album in the top selling albums of the last decade which is surely a good sign for his career! X has sold 2,134,000 since being released last July. That's an average of about 44,000 a week.
4: Emeli Sandé – Our Version Of Events

Emeli Sande had hit after hit with her 2013 album. Out Version Of Events has sold 2,208,000 copies since being released and holds the record for the longest time spent in the Top 10 of any debut album.
3: Michael Bublé – Christmas

The second Michael Buble album in the top 15! Seeing as this album is re-hashed every Christmas, it's hard to say it's a shock to see this in the top 3. The festive album has sold 2,216,000 copies since it was released in time for Christmas in 2011.
2: Take That - Progress

Just missing out on poll position is Take That's Progress. This album saw the return of Robbie Williams and the whole Take that line-up re-united. This album sold an incredible 519,000 copies of its 2,374,000 total during its first week on sale.
1: Adele - 21
