The Young Offenders Will Be Returning To Our Screens In New TV Show
The Young Offenders will be returning in tv show format.
The movie shot in Cork was the success story of the year in the Irish box office last year, so much so that there's room for re-offending in a brand new six part tv series for BBC and RTÉ.
The movie brought in over €1 million at the box office making it the highest grossing Irish movie of 2016.
The story follows two teenagers, Conor MacSweeney and Jock O'Keeffe who are played by Cork actors Alex Murphy and Chris Walley, as they take their bikes from Cork city to West Cork in a bid to find one of the bails of cocaine that have fallen off a boat.
Director Peter Foott will return to work on the tv series as a writer, director and producer after the success of the film including winning Best Screenplay at the IFTA awards.
The episodes will be thirty minutes long and will be filmed once again in Cork with production beginning this summer.
The new tv series is due to hit screens next year.
