WATCH: Kodaline's Latest Video Features Fota Wildlife Park

Kodaline's latest music video has a special Cork connection!

The band's latest single Ready To Change was released last week from their I Wouldn't Be EP.

Since then we've been treated to the video for the song which was shot over two days in Cork's Fota Wildlife Park.

The video tells the story of a man who can't talk to humans, only animals and is encouraged to dress up as a panda with a zoo keeper. The band came up with the concept for the video with director Stevie Russell who has previously worked on other Kodaline videos including All I Want, High Hopes and Brother.

Kodaline front-man Steve Garrigan describes their latest single as "bittersweet" as the song is about a former friend of the Dublin band, "The song is about an old friend of ours who was very close to us but was also very set in his own ways. He always talked about turning over a new leaf but never committed to it. We fell out of love with him over time. The song is slightly bittersweet about him."

Although there are no actual pandas at Fota Wildlife Park, there are Red Pandas, therefor the money Fota Wildlife Park made from the video being shot on the grounds will go towards conservation of the Red Panda through the European Endangered Species Programme (EEP) Forest Guardian Project who employs forest guardians to protect the Red Pandas in Chintapu Community Forest at Maimajhuwa VDC in Nepal.

Head Ranger Willy Duffy, who also appears in the music video said, "Fota Wildlife Park were delighted to be chosen as the location for Kodaline’s new music video.

"We are a non-profit organisation whose mission is to educate, foster research and promote conservation and the location fees raised during this production allowed us to give additional support to the Forest Guardian Project in Nepal.

"The Forest Guardians are key to the future of the red panda: they work within their respective communities to create a Community Forest Network, they monitor and protect red panda habitats as well as educating their communities.

"The monies raised through filming ‘Ready to Change’ will go towards employing and training Forest Guardians which helps empower the local people to protect their forests and also financially supports the families there."
