X Factor Contestants Brooks Way Will Be Replaced Following Assault Allegations
The producers of The X Factor and the group Brooks Way have mutually agreed that the group should leave the competition.
Only hours before the first live show of the 2016 series, twin brothers Brooks Way were told they were suspended from the show until further investigations were made into an allegation that one of the brothers, Josh, assaulted his ex-girlfriend.
John was also accused of sending threatening texts to his ex and show bosses decided it was best to remove the boys from the competition until further clarity was made about the alleged assault.
It has now been confirmed that the twins, mentored by judge Louis Walsh, will leave the competition and will be replaced by another act.
In a statement made this afternoon, Josh said: "Due to events in my personal life I've decided that it's best not to be on the show at this time. While not everything that has been claimed is true I would like to apologise to everyone involved."
A spokesperson for the X Factor said: Following the allegations relating to Josh Brooks, we have decided by mutual consent that Brooks Way should leave the competition."
There is no confirmation yet over who will replace Brooks Way.
