Corcadorca Theatre Company have just celebrated their 30th Anniversary and are now full steam ahead with Éadaoin O’Donoghue’s new play, Hail to the Great Wave! which is open at CTDC (Corcadorca Theatre Development Centre) in Triskel nightly (except Sunday) at 8pm until Saturday, December 4th.

Hail to the Great Wave! is a dark, sweet, comedy about a couple surviving during the apocalypse. Ironically, it was first scheduled for production in Spring 2020 and was put on hold as a result of the covid pandemic. This is a play that looks at the heroism of ordinary people, the insanity of the times we live in, and the necessity of hope…and teabags. Playwright and actor, Éadaoin says, “it is a strange time to make theatre. Antigen tests, masks, rehearsing in a room with other people again, but still being very careful. There’s a sense of precarity and fragility. It’s also the exact time we need theatre.”

Starring Éadaoin and Moe Dunford, directed by Pat Kiernan, with set design by Owen Boss, lighting design by Aedín Cosgrove and costumes by Valentina Gambardella, Hail to the Great Wave!
