The network is voluntary and works at a community level across the County and represents over 1000 groups. With the aim of giving a voice to these community groups. The organisation dates back to 2014 when town councils were scrapped. The PPN then stepped in with 31 groups across the Country. In Cork there's one for the City and one for the County. Any community can join for free and gain access to free training which is designed for community groups in relation to: Social Media, GDPR, Fundraising and how to access funding. The are 3 types of groups in the network: Environmental, Social inclusion and General Community groups.
